TeenyTini creates handmade designs in crochet and knit for children and adults.
JK Lange studied women's and menswear design at the College of the Arts in Bremen, Germany, and it was at college that she developed a passion for childrenswear, graduating with a degree show entitled 'Manchmal kommt die Kindheit zu Besuch'. After many successful years at international level, Julia felt it was time to focus her creativity on her first love - childrenswear. TeenyTini bt JK Lange was born in 2007.
In 2009, with TeenyTini going from strength to strength, JK Lange encountered a challenge she didn't expect. A sudden change in her eyesight led to a diagnosis of Leber's Optic Atrophy, a hereditary condition that results in partial sight. After the initial shock, JK Lange soon realised that TeenyTini's unique designs had always existed in her mind's eye long before they became objects. Her sight and also her way of seeing colours may have changed, but her vision for her work and her company was clearer than ever. Rather than hindering her design, this diagnosis led to a new lease of life, imagination and creativity, sparking a hugely successful new range.
TeenyTini styles are made with love to detail, colour and traditional handwork techniques in JK Lange's atelier in Berlin. The range of animals is made from high quality fibres which are kind to a child's skin. The designs create subtle, rich colours which are carefully selected by hand and combined to make the garment unique - every design is heart touching and the little creatures do put a smile on your face just by being so confidentially different. All yarns and fabrics are certified organic cotton or merino wools - all produced in Germany.
